The Future of Shopping? AI + Actual Humans.

AI has changed how consumers shop by speeding up research. But one thing hasn’t changed: shoppers still trust people more than AI.

Levanta’s new Affiliate 3.0 Consumer Report reveals a major shift in how shoppers blend AI tools with human influence. Consumers use AI to explore options, but when it comes time to buy, they still turn to creators, communities, and real experiences to validate their decisions.

The data shows:

  • Only 10% of shoppers buy through AI-recommended links

  • 87% discover products through creators, blogs, or communities they trust

  • Human sources like reviews and creators rank higher in trust than AI recommendations

The most effective brands are combining AI discovery with authentic human influence to drive measurable conversions.

Affiliate marketing isn’t being replaced by AI, it’s being amplified by it.

DAILY UPDATE

Salesforce admits it moved too fast with AI and cut human jobs too early.

Senior leaders at Salesforce said they overestimated how ready AI was for real work and rushed to replace skilled staff. The company now admits that cutting thousands of support jobs hurt service quality and caused serious problems.

  • Salesforce cut over 4,000 customer support jobs in 2025 and replaced them with AI systems

  • Leaders first called this move a productivity win, but later saw AI fail in complex cases

  • Service quality dropped, complaints rose, and teams had to step in to fix the damage

This shows that AI cannot fully replace human judgment, especially in complex customer service. The case warns other companies to be more careful when using AI and not rush to remove experienced workers.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT

Gemini on Android will soon work better with multitasking and stay active in the background.

The Gemini chatbot on Android now has a big limit when used as a floating window. Google is working on a fix that will let Gemini stay open and active while you use other apps.

  • The floating window of Gemini now closes fully when you tap another app

  • When it closes, the chat history is lost and you must start again

  • Google is testing a new design where Gemini becomes a small floating button instead of closing

This change will make multitasking much easier. You will be able to ask Gemini a question, move to another app, and come back to the same chat later. It helps with long tasks, saves time, and makes Gemini more useful during daily phone use.
