DAILY UPDATE

OpenAI backs a new brain computer startup linked to Sam Altman.

OpenAI has made a seed investment in Merge Labs, a brain computer interface startup co-founded by Sam Altman, after the company came out of stealth with a $252M raise. OpenAI is now its largest investor.

  • Merge Labs is building brain computer tech using ultrasound and proteins, without brain surgery

  • The team includes leaders from World, Caltech, and Forest Neurotech

  • OpenAI will help develop AI models to better read brain signals and speed up research

This move shows how AI and the human brain are getting closer. It also puts OpenAI into direct competition with Neuralink, adding new tension to the growing rivalry in brain tech and shaping how people may one day connect with AI naturally.

TODAYโ€™S HIGHLIGHT

Cursor ran AI agents for weeks and built a full web browser with over 3 million lines of code.

Cursor shared a new blog showing how hundreds of AI coding agents worked on their own for long periods, using GPT 5.2 to build large software projects from scratch.

  • The agents were split into planners, workers, and judges, letting them work together and check each other.

  • One group built a web browser from zero in under a week, and it could load simple websites.

  • Other tests created a Windows 7 emulator, an Excel-like app, and a large internal code move, each with over one million lines of code.

This shows that AI coding agents are reaching a new level, where they can handle huge projects for weeks without stopping. As coordination gets better, software costs and speed could change fast, reshaping how products are built.
