DAILY UPDATE

xAI shared a bold new plan to reshape its team, grow its products, and take AI beyond Earth.

Elon Musk used xAI’s first all-hands after merging with SpaceX to explain a major reset, clear product goals, and a long-term vision that includes building AI systems in space.

  • xAI is changing its team structure to work better at scale, even as some employees leave.

  • The company will focus on four core teams: Grok for chat and voice, a coding unit, Imagine, and Macrohard, which builds AI agents that act like companies.

  • With help from SpaceX, Musk wants to build AI satellite factories on the Moon, powered by solar energy and launched using an electromagnetic system.

This shows Musk is pushing xAI to stand out from other AI companies by thinking far ahead. By planning to grow AI using space resources, xAI aims to scale without putting more pressure on Earth.

  • Anthropic rated the sabotage risk as very low but not negligible, saying the model does not have strong harmful goals of its own.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has often warned about the dangers of advanced AI. Now, one of his own models is entering a gray zone of risk.
