DAILY UPDATE

Anthropic rolls out a new Claude tool that runs large scale interviews and shows how workers feel about AI.

Anthropic has launched a research tool called Anthropic Interviewer that uses Claude to run and study many interviews at once. Its first study looked at 1,250 professionals and how they use AI in daily work.

  • The tool plans questions, holds short talks with people, and groups the themes for human review.

  • In the first study, most workers said AI saves time, but many still feel stigma, doubt, and worry about the future.

  • Creatives often hide AI use, while scientists want better AI partners but still feel low trust in current models.

Companies usually depend on clicks and forms, but wide scale open interviews can reveal what people truly think and feel. The early findings show a workforce that is using AI more, yet still unsure how it fits into their social world and long term future.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT

EU checks if WhatsApp’s new rule on blocking outside AI tools breaks fair-competition rules.

The EU is looking into WhatsApp’s new policy that blocks third-party AI chatbots from using its business tools, while Meta’s own AI can still run freely on the app.

β€’ The EU says the change may limit access for rival AI services like Copilot and ChatGPT.
β€’ The new policy starts on 15 January 2026, stopping outside AI chatbots from working inside WhatsApp.
β€’ Only simple support uses of AI by businesses are allowed, while Meta AI stays fully open to WhatsApp users.

This matters because WhatsApp has billions of users, and limiting rival AI tools could give Meta a powerful edge, shaping how many people can reach and use different AI services.
