Anthropic’s AI Found 10,000+ Critical Security Flaws

Anthropic’s Project Glasswing helped find over 10,000 serious security vulnerabilities in just one month using its Claude Mythos Preview AI model.

Anthropic revealed the first results from Project Glasswing, showing how its Claude Mythos Preview model and around 50 partners uncovered thousands of high and critical cybersecurity flaws across major platforms and open source software.

Cloudflare discovered more than 2,000 bugs, with Mythos producing fewer false positives than human testers. Meanwhile, Mozilla fixed 271 vulnerabilities in Firefox 150 after using the system.
Anthropic scanned over 1,000 open source projects, where Mythos flagged 6,202 serious vulnerabilities. After review, nearly 3,900 of them were confirmed as real threats.
The AI also went beyond finding bugs. One banking partner used Mythos to detect and block a $1.5 million fraudulent wire transfer. Anthropic now plans to expand Glasswing to more partners, including U.S. and allied governments.

This shows how quickly AI-powered cybersecurity is advancing. While Anthropic says Mythos is still restricted because safety protections are not strong enough yet, competition from OpenAI and Chinese AI companies means similar systems will likely become widely available soon.

Google DeepMind’s AI Solved 9 Math Problems Humans Couldn’t Crack for 56 Years

Google DeepMind’s new AI solved nine long unsolved math problems, including two that stayed open for 56 years.

Google DeepMind revealed AlphaProof Nexus, an AI system that can create and verify mathematical proofs. The system solved nine open Erdős problems just one day after OpenAI announced its own breakthrough on an Erdős problem.

The AI combined a large language model with Lean, a proof verification tool, to create machine checked proofs in combinatorics and graph theory.
It also solved 44 open conjectures from the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences, with each problem costing only a few hundred dollars to complete.
Some harder problems still remain unsolved, especially ones needing completely new mathematical ideas or constructions.

This shows how quickly AI research is moving toward making original scientific discoveries. By generating proofs, checking them in Lean, and retrying until they work, systems like this could help mathematicians solve difficult problems much faster in the future.
