Microsoft unveiled a major AI expansion at Build 2026, introducing new models, smart agents, quantum tech, and AI focused hardware.
Microsoft introduced a big wave of new AI products and tools at Build 2026. The company revealed new in house AI models, its first always active AI agent, a powerful quantum chip, and a new platform for AI devices.
Microsoft launched seven new MAI models for reasoning, coding, images, voice, and transcription through Microsoft Foundry.
The new Microsoft Scout agent can work inside Teams and handle tasks like scheduling meetings and preparing materials automatically.
Microsoft also revealed Majorana 2, a quantum chip with a 1,000x reliability improvement, along with new AI hardware like Project Solara and the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box.
This shows Microsoft is moving fast to lead the next stage of AI. With its own models, smart agents, quantum progress, and AI devices, the company is building a stronger AI ecosystem and stepping further away from relying on OpenAI.

Martin Scorsese Is Using AI to Plan His Next Movie

Martin Scorsese is now advising AI startup Black Forest Labs and using its AI tools to help storyboard a new film.
Legendary director Martin Scorsese revealed that he joined AI image startup Black Forest Labs as a partner and adviser last year. He is using the company’s FLUX AI model during the early planning stage of a new movie.

Scorsese said being able to instantly share storyboards feels "creatively freeing" and added that cinema should stay open to new ways of evolving.
This is a major moment for AI in Hollywood because Scorsese is one of the most respected filmmakers in the world. His approach also shows how AI can support creativity without replacing filmmakers, actors, or studios, which may make the technology easier for skeptical creators to accept.
